Dishend carbon steel cold forming

Generaly Hokkai has two ways to form torisphercial, cold press and cold spinning

Cold press can be achieved to ID3200mm with 24mm thickness; cold spinning can be formed with max 9000mm

Hokkai has three types for our Dished Heads, we called them THA, XD and MD, it will be done by cold forming. 

THA means 10% Torispherical dished heads and the size is ruled as Crown radius=ID, Knuckle radius =0.1ID;

XD means special torispherical which Crown radius is less than the inner diameter

MD means shallow torispherical dished ends which crown radius is larger than inner diameter

Nomally the carbon steel dished heads will be done as the following process   

• Inpection after receipt  material plates-
• Cutting as the dished heads szie--rolling to get crown radius
• Cold spinning to get the knuckle radius of Dished Head
• NDT if required
• Heat treatment to relief stress during dished heads forming
• Edge preparation as the clients Dished End drawing.
• Inspection after completion
